Audit: Waterford district’s rainy day fund increased
The Waterford Schools Board of Education received the district’s annual audit report from Yeo & Yeo for the 2010-11 school year at its board meeting on Oct. 20. Waterford, Pontiac in discussions over fire dept. services
Waterford Township officials are currently in discussions with the city of Pontiac to possibly merge the two communities’ fire department services in an effort spearheaded by Pontiac officials to save the city money. Waterford Mott stunned Oakland Activities Association (OAA) Blue Division champion West Bloomfield in a first-round district match, 3-2, on Monday, Oct. 17, with a shootout determining the winner. Waterford police net $51K for auto theft prevention
The Waterford Township Police Department is one of four recipients in Oakland County of a Michigan Automobile Theft Prevention Authority (ATPA) grant designed to reduce the number of stolen vehicles. Waterford to save $7,300 yearly with new streetlights
Waterford Township is one of 10 recipients of a $50,000 grant to replace its current street lights with new alternative lighting fixture technology. School’s playground gets upgrade; more help welcomed
The Kingsley-Montgomery Elementary School playground in the Waterford School District was the recipient of an upgrade thanks to 45 volunteers who came out to assemble and install new equipment. Snow removal among the changes

Mott takes Captain’s Oar from Kettering
Waterford Mott snapped a 21-game losing streak and claimed the Captain’s Oar with a 21-0 shutout at rival Waterford Kettering on Saturday, Oct. 8.
