Perpetrator flees home after woman returns

A Wixom woman nearly came face-to-face with an intruder when she arrived home on Thursday, Jan. 5.

The woman, who resides in the 360 block of Beck Road, was opening her apartment door when someone from inside braced the door shut.

The woman ran to a neighbor’s residence and phoned police. After police entered the residence and conducted a search, they noted the subject had fled via a sliding glass door.

The woman stated that the only items missing were $5 in change and some costume jewelry.

There were no signs of forced entry. However, the woman said she had been experiencing trouble with a lock.

The subject could not be located.
