Maple Road Auto has been a family affair since 1990

Maple Road Auto Repair in Walled Lake has been providing quality car care to city residents and the community at large for over two decades.

Family-owned and operated since 1990, owner Patrick Beyette continues to stimulate and maintain business by ensuring customers drive away satisfied.

“Our customers highly recommend us to their friends and family,” Beyette said. “They trust us and bring their cars in for all their mechanical needs. I’ve stayed in business for 22 years because of honesty and quality work.”

The shop is located at 1653 E. West Maple, at the corner of Maple and Decker roads.

“Straight up, I love this community,” Beyette said. “We are deeply rooted here.”

The shop was established first as a Mr. Muffler in 1990 by Donald Beyette, Patrick Beyette’s uncle. In 2001, Patrick’s father, John Beyette, took over the reigns after Donald was critically injured in an accident. In 2009, John handed over the business to Patrick.

“I dropped the (Mr. Muffler) franchise then and we became an independent repair shop,” Patrick said.

Apart from general automotive repair, the shop is known for speciality services such as electrical and computer diagnostic and repair, as well as drivability issues geared toward domestic and foreign cars.

Other services include suspensions and brakes, exhaust systems, and engine and transmission repair.

“We do everything but tires and alignment,” Patrick said.

He added that, unlike many car repair shops, Maple Road Auto Repair’s work ethic underscores transparency.

“We take the customers in the back and show them exactly what’s wrong with their vehicle — that’s part of our honesty policy,” he said. “We also take a proactive approach and look everything over, every time. The customer doesn’t necessarily need to have everything done at that time, but we want to make sure we don’t miss anything. It’s all about quality work.”

Beyette prides himself on employing state-certified automotive technicians with experience. The shop offers a 12-month, 12,000-mile warranty on their parts and labor.

Right now, they are highlighting a $15.99 oil change special with up to 5 quarts of 5W-30 oil, oil filter, safety inspection and fluid check.

Hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Saturday hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
