Driver critically injured in West Maple accident

A 21-year-old White Lake Township resident is in critical condition at Botsford Hospital after being seriously injured in a car accident around 2:13 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 13.

The male driver was traveling westbound on West Maple east of Laura Lane in Commerce Township when he apparently lost control of his 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix and ran off the roadway. The vehicle flipped, ejecting the driver from the car.

The driver had not been wearing his seat belt and was unlicensed. It’s unknown at this time whether alcohol was a factor in the crash.
