Numerous lakes area wrestlers were in action last weekend as the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) state tournament began. Captains wrap up KLAA North play without a loss

For the second straight season, Waterford Kettering has emerged from Kensington Lakes Activities Association (KLAA) North division play with a zero in the loss column. The Huron Valley Milford Mavericks are the “Champions of the West” — the Kensington Lakes Activities Association (KLAA) West Division, that is. Lakers rebound after winning streak snapped

Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes won its Catholic League tournament opener after seeing its 10-game winning streak snapped earlier last week. The Lakers defeated Detroit Cristo Rey handily, 53-14, at Detroit Jesuit in a Catholic League C-D Division tournament game on Saturday, Feb. 11. Orchard Lake St. Mary’s defeated Trenton, 4-1, at the Trenton Showcase at Kennedy Ice Arena on Friday, Feb. 10. Walled Lake Central picked up its 10th win of the season with a 5-0 shutout of Anchor Bay at the High School Hockey Showcase on Saturday, Feb. 11.  Walled Lake Western won two games last week to finish second in the Kensington Lakes Activities Association (KLAA) North Division at 7-3, its best ever finish in the division. Orchard Lake St. Mary’s dropped two games last week to fall to 7-8 overall and 3-5 in the Catholic League Central Division.
