Captains wrap up KLAA North play without a loss

For the second straight season, Waterford Kettering has emerged from Kensington Lakes Activities Association (KLAA) North division play with a zero in the loss column.

The KLAA North champion Captains defeated Walled Lake Northern at home, 49-26, on Friday, Feb. 10 to finish North Division play with a perfect 10-0 record for the second straight season.

The Captains (15-1) have won 11 straight games overall and 23 straight KLAA North division games dating back to Feb. 9, 2010.

Allison Bicknell led Kettering with 11 points, while Shelby Watts and Erica Schwartz each had 8 and Hannah Huff scored 7.

Caitlin Crowley led Northern (4-12, 2-8) with 15 points.

On Tuesday, Feb. 7, the Captains began the week with a 39-17 victory at Huron Valley Lakeland.

Arjanai Washington led the Captains with 8 points while Bicknell and Watts each had 6 points.

Jessie Clink led Lakeland (5-11, 3-7) with 8 points.

Kettering opened play in the KLAA Lakes Conference tournament on Tuesday, Feb. 14 at Howell.

The winner will face either Brighton or Walled Lake Central on Thursday, Feb. 16 in the semi-finals.

The Lakes Conference Championship game is on Monday, Feb. 20.
