White Lake Township – Marijuana Possession
On March 4 officers were dispatched to reports of a vehicle stuck in the snow. Officers made contact with the driver of the vehicle, a 44-year-old male, who appeared to be hiding something. Found in his pocket was a marijuana pipe. A small quantity of marijuana was also found in the driver’s vehicle. He was issued a citation and released.
White Lake Township – Breaking and Entering: Forced Entry
On March 1 officers were dispatched to the 6000 block of Northwood Circle on reports of a breaking and entering. The homeowner returned to find her front door had been pushed in. Inside, numerous articles of jewelry were missing. There also appeared to be signs of an unsuccessful entry at the garage. There are no known suspects at this time.
White Lake Township – Money Scam
On February 15 a 63-year-old White Lake resident reported that she had met a man online through a web-dating site. She reported that during conversations, the man expressed to her that he was attempting to purchase a gas station in Malaysia. Over the course of five months, the victim sent a total of $30,000 to the individual. She became suspicious when the individual did not show up for a meeting they had arranged and contacted police. There are no known suspects at this time and the case is still under investigation.
Wixom – Burglary
On February 27 officers responded to reports of a burglary. Compliant states she left for work and when she returned home she noticed that her door was unlocked. She entered her apartment, but didn’t notice anything missing. After further review, complaint noticed that her laptop and other property were missing. There were no signs of entry and there are no suspects at this time.
Wixom – Larceny: Personal Property from Vehicle
On February 25 officers were dispatched to a local construction company on reports of larceny. Complaint informed officers that the suspects broke into the gated yard and stole numerous items from vehicles and surrounding grounds. Suspects broke into several large trucks and stole miscellaneous tools. Case is still under investigation.
Walled Lake – Property Damage: Traffic Crash
On February 26 officers were dispatched to a hit and run. Dispatch stated that the vehicle hit and run took place on W. Maple and Ladd Roads. Driver stated she was traveling eastbound on Maple Road and stopped in the roadway to avoid a collision when the vehicle behind her failed to stop and struck her. Complaint supplied officers with the license plate number and vehicle description. The identified driver of the vehicle was cited for failure to stop within an assured and clear distance.
Highland Township – B & E Business
Highland Deputies responded to S&G Coin and Jewelry in the 1600 block of Milford for a B&E alarm. Upon arrival deputies found that the glass on the south door had been shattered. K-9 Deputy tracked the scent from the scene to an adjacent parking lot were the scent was lost and it appears a car was parked. An individual arrived on scene and stated that nothing appears to be missing at this time.
Commerce Township – Hazmat Team Assist
On March 5 Oakland County Sheriff Deputies responded to a Property Damage Crash in the area of South Commerce Road near Oakley Park. Upon arrival Deputies received information that one of the vehicles involved was transporting radioactive material to a lab. Fearing one or more of the containers had been breached during the collision, the West Oakland Hazmat Team was requested to assist at the scene. The Hazmat Team conducted test and the scene was determined to be safe. The responsible driver was cited for careless driving. No injuries were reported.
