The goal of the Early Childhood program is to provide a Christ-centered,
balanced academic curriculum that is developmentally appropriate and establishes a
foundation that will build to the next grade level, according to Andrea Johnson, principal
“Each program is specifically structured to be age appropriate as well as learning
focused,” said Johnson. “We provide training in literacy, mathematics, and moral
development at all levels.”
The Kindergarten program includes instruction in reading and literacy,
mathematics, social studies, science, religion, computers and community awareness.
Classes are kept small to sustain greater individualized instruction and a nurturing
environment. Parents are encouraged to assist in classroom activities. The class
convenes weekdays 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. For parents and students interested in a full
day at school, childcare and enrichment programs are also available.
The Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten programs expose children to the written
language on a daily basis, stresses both listening and speaking skills, provides literacy
activities, and develops math skills. Play is also an integral part of the curriculum
to build self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-control while providing social and
developmental experiences necessary for a healthy attitude towards school.
