Meet The Haangs: 17 Years In Grand Rapids And Now They Called Walled Lake Home

There’s a new restaurant located on Walled Lake Drive in the Waterfront District. New owners of Haang’s Bistro, Her and Ka Hang, transformed the previous business into their new restaurant Haang’s Bistro. This husband and wife team made their journey from Grand Rapids Michigan to Walled Lake in search of the perfect building and location.

“Walled Lake and the lakes area was the only place we could now call home. We wanted to leave the big city life we had in Grand Rapids and move to the family oriented community of the lakes area,” Haang’s Bistro owners said.

Customers get the best of both worlds at Haang’s Bistro. The bistro serves both Thai and Chinese cuisine and offer full service dine in or carry out.

“Our customers will enjoy quality fresh food, cooked consistently the same every time,” Chef Her Haang says. “Our goal is for customers to come in hungry and leave happy, we won’t disappoint you! Try us once and I promise you will be back for more.”

Outside dining allows customers to have a great view of the lake and can enjoy one of Michigan’s beautiful sunsets while enjoying their meal.

Owner and chef Her Haang has spent over 20 years learning traditional Chinese and Thai Cooking expertise mainly from his brother who is a also chef.

“Whether you come in with friends, family or want to have a nice romantic dinner, we are here to provide great service, great food, that’s what we do!” Ka said.

Haang’s provides over 50 plus menu items with the average cost for lunch $7.00 and average dinner price of $10.00. With a line-up of traditional restaurant beverages, Haang’s also provides some unique flavors from Thailand; they offer sweet delights of Thai ice tea and hard to find Thai ice coffee. You can start the evening out with a variety of soups from Hot and Sour, Wonton, Egg Drop or add an appetizer.

Customers can end their ultimate dining experience with one of Haang’s Bistros desserts, Thai coconut ice cream, fried ice cream or even a slice of Thai Banana Rice Cake or one of their many other desserts.
