Judge Nanci Grant was unanimously elected as Chairperson of the Michigan Judicial Tenure Commission during its February meeting.
Judge Grant is the Chief Judge of Oakland County Circuit Court and was elected to the bench in 1996. Judge Grant was elected in 2007 to the Judicial Tenure Commission (JTC) by the state’s circuit court judges as their representative.
Commenting on her new position as Chairperson of JTC, Judge Grant said, “I am grateful to be a part of this very important Commission. As judges, we must all strive to do our best for the people that come before us and remember that it is the public whom we serve.”
Judge Grant was elected in 2007 to the Judicial Judge Grant is also a past president of the Michigan Judges Association, is a past recipient of the Oakland County Bar Association’s Professionalism Award, was named a “Leader in the Law” for 2012 as well as many other accolades. She is a graduate of The University of Michigan and Wayne State University Law School.
