Tour Highland Middle School Gym Before Demolition

Highland Township Supervisor Rick Hamill would like the public to attend a tour of the Highland Middle School gym prior to any demolition of the school building on Wednesday January 30 at 6:30 pm.

The tour will start promptly at 6:45 pm at the Highland Adult Activity center next door to the Highland Middle School 209 N. John Street.

The purpose of this tour and special township board meeting is to garner the support and verify the decision of whether to keep the gym for the future use of the community or to let it be a victim of the wrecking ball.

Highland has a unique opportunity to benefit from the collaboration of Huron Valley Schools and the community.  “I would like to see this structure repurposed for the good of the community and by the community” “ I believe in this project and will champion the program but verification of the publics support needs to be shown by attending this tour and discussion.” Hamill said.  “ This needs to be a joint venture of the athletic community, the business community and private individuals with the support of the township government.”  “Sharing is a community word and that is how the success of this awesome project will come to fruition.”  “So bring your positive thinking caps and lets join together to make this a reality!  We need people ready to pitch in with all the resources they are willing to donate.”

I’m not following this. Is there a threshold as to how many people show up? If 100 people come out will it be saved?
