There’s no lack of talent and vibrancy in the west Oakland County communities of Highland, White Lake, Commerce, Milford, Walled Lake and Wixom, and county Executive L. Brooks Patterson is looking for your input on who deserves to be honored as being among his annual 40 Under 40 nominees.
Patterson, who was earlier this year reelected to a sixth term as the county’s CEO, is now accepting nominations of “the young thought leaders and trail blazers who live or work in Oakland County and are under the age of 40 (as of Feb. 7, 2013)” through Monday, Dec. 31.
Once nominations are accepted, they will be evaluated through Jan. 4. A panel will then spend three weeks from Jan. 7 through Jan. 28 judging them, followed by a public voting period from Jan. 28 through Feb. 1.
The finalists will be announced on Feb. 7, and the winner will introduce Patterson during his annual State of the County Address. The top three will receive passes to a variety of Oakland County events.
Last year’s winner, 39-year-old Hajj Flemings, is the founder and CEO of Brand Camp University.
