$4K in Christmas gifts taken from car Sunday

A White Lake Township man is hoping the offer of a reward will lead to the arrest of whoever is responsible for stealing thousands of dollars worth of Christmas gifts from a family vehicle.

Tom Talbot told White Lake police that someone broke into his wife’s vehicle early in the morning of Sunday, Nov. 25 on Glasgow Drive and stole about $4,000 in property. Talbot said he is hoping to offer a $500 reward to help bring those responsible to justice.

“We will be contacting police with that information,” he said. “This has gone on, and when it hits that close to home, especially on the holidays and taking things from kids, that person needs to be brought to justice.”

White Lake police said about eight vehicles were entered early Sunday morning on Glasgow Drive. Police said none of the vehicles were damaged, and only one reported items missing.

Talbot said he and his wife were out of town for the evening and he was alerted to the theft by his mother, who lives down the road from him. Talbot said the vehicle was locked and the alarm was sounding when his mother called him to tell him of the incident.

“All of my kids’ Christmas gifts were in the trunk of the car,” he said. “Everything was in there … when they got us, they probably got the motherload.”

No the dollar amount is right. The kids were home while we were out of town for the night, thats why they were in the car. You can get the police report with receipts at WLPD. My kids read this paper, that is why there is no defined description here. $500.00 for the information leading to the arrest of person that did this.
