From Ryan Golem, Commerce Township:
I am writing this letter to endorse Janet Bushey as the Commerce Township Clerk.
Janet has worked for Commerce Township for over 16 years. She has the experience, heart and dedication that the township needs. She is currently the township’s human resource and finance director but started off as a clerk/receptionist and has worked in the clerk’s, planning and supervisor departments. This has provided her the opportunity to see the township from many different angles. She has worked with the fire department, library, Oakland County sheriff and board members on everything from contract negotiations, budgets, financial statement preparations, and working school, primary and general elections. She is focused on common-sense leadership and making professional, informed decisions after gathering all available information. Her experience with the township has prepared her for joining the board and working on the task of allocating tax dollars without sacrificing the services that the township provides.
Janet’s experience not only qualifies her for this position. Her ability to think independently and her concern for the welfare of all Commerce Township residents are other strong attributes that make her the right person for this position. Janet has lived in Commerce since 1990 and her family loves the township so much that her children have remained in Commerce and have chosen to raise their children in this community. Knowing that Janet’s children and grandchildren all reside in Commerce provides me with the comfort of knowing she will make her decisions based on what is right for the community and its residents, as she has so many people close to her that it effects.
Since the current clerk, Dan Munro, is resigning if re-elected, let’s let the voters decide who will be chosen as township clerk and not make it a decision of the board members. The vote is in the residents’ hands and let’s keep it that way. Vote for Janet Bushey.
