Walled Lake police arrested a woman who allegedly assaulted a police officer after refusing to leave the Walled Lake Missionary Church during a wedding party on June 2.
Concerned wedding attendees contacted police saying the woman was suspicious. When police arrived on the scene, the woman was sitting on the ground near a pew dressed in green sweatpants and a blue sweater. She reportedly continually stated that the world was coming to an end.
When police officers approached her, she stood up and ran toward the closest exit. When police caught up with the woman, she allegedly began to fight and resist them, according to a Walled Lake Police Department report.
An officer attempted to restrain the woman, but she allegedly bit him on the right forearm, breaking the skin.
Another officer took the woman to the ground to restrain her and she began flailing her arms, but eventually she was handcuffed.
When placed on a stretcher to be transported to DMC Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital, she allegedly became aggressive, attempting to again bite. She also was kicking and flailing her arms, according to the report.
The woman managed to get a hold of a pair of scissors from a registered nurse during transport and also bit herself on the arm.
She was eventually conveyed to the hospital for a psychiatric evaluation.
