From David Carl Schell, Waterford Township:
Lynn O’Brien is unquestionably the most experienced candidate in the Highland (Township) supervisor race. Lynn is the only candidate who has (17 years of) recent on-the-job municipal government experience. This includes an important team role in helping (state) Sen. Mike Kowall increase the M-59 corridor’s taxable value by $1.1 million in her tenure and increasing the amount of jobs by 3,200. Is it any wonder that she has the full support of the Kowalls, among a plethora of others?
Lynn is the only supervisor candidate who has been endorsed by Michigan Right To Life and is a pro-life Christian, as well as being a strong social and fiscal conservative. She is also the only candidate with college education relevant to the supervisor position, having both a (bachelor’s) degree in public administration and a minor in general business, for which she won “Intern of the Year.” She also earned a paralegal certificate (cum laude) recently.
She is one of the hardest working people I have ever known, yet (she) has found time to do over 20 years of community service because she cares about all people. Lynn has been an indefatigable leader over the years while she did development, marketing and fund-raising for annual civic events and charities such as the Veterans Day Memorial, Community Christmas Tree Lighting, Sparks in the Park and as a Joel Jeremy Memorial Fund board member.
A vote for Lynn O’Brien for Highland supervisor is one I am sure you will never regret!

I met the majority of candidates for Highland Township Supervisor earlier this year and I spent time reviewing everyone’s municipal experience and community involvement.
I feel that a Township Supervisor should have the type of resume that fits the position. If anyone applied for a job with a company, they would never be considered if they didn’t have previous experience in that field. Why should a Supervisor be any different?
I agree with all your comments about Lynn! She has 17 years of previous municipal experience as well as a BA in public administration and minor in general business. She also has a paralegal certificate which is a great asset.
Not only does Lynn talk about community involvement, she has proven over the years that she really cares about people and her community by being involved. She’s also endorsed by Sen. Mike Kowall and Right to Life. Lynn also has the professionalism, integrity and character to represent Highland Township.
Lynn is the only candidate that can move Highland Township forward in the direction we need to go.
