Two women have been arrested and are facing charges for assault with intent to commit murder following a physical altercation in which a Waterford Township woman was stabbed repeatedly.
Around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 30, Waterford Township police officers responded to the 800 block of Village Green Boulevard on an aggravated assault complaint and spoke with the victim, a 26-year-old township woman.
She told officers that two women were waiting for her when she returned home from a local bar.
Police identified Janelle Alaa Mansoor, a 24-year-old Madison Heights woman, and 21-year-old Chelsey Leigh Wallace of Clarkston as the attackers in a press release.
Mansoor allegedly stabbed the victim repeatedly while Wallace allegedly kicked and punched her.
Both suspects were located in the parking lot of the Village Green apartment complex, where they were arrested without incident.
According to police, the knife used in the attack was also recovered.
The victim was transported to an area hospital and treated for her injuries.
On Monday, July 2, Mansoor and Wallace were arraigned on one count each of assault with intent to murder. Both were lodged at the Oakland County Jail on $500,000 cash bond, according to police.
