From Ed Kohl, West Bloomfield:
Once again I was privileged to participate as a volunteer in the West Bloomfield Hazardous Waste Day at the West Bloomfield Civic Center on April 28.
It was gratifying to see so many people taking the time to save and deliver their material to the site for proper disposal.
This year, in spite of the cold, gloomy weather, we established a new record of 1,865 cars in six hours.
My congratulations go to (West Bloomfield Township) Development Services Director Marshall Labadie; Environmental Manager John Roda; Purchasing Agent Cindy Victor; their team of volunteers for their excellent organizational effort; and vendors that processed the materials so efficiently.
We especially thank all the West Bloomfield residents for saving their hazardous waste products and taking the time to deliver them to the event.
The township plans to hold another hazardous waste day this fall on Sept. 29, so please continue to save your material for proper disposal.
