Art is for everyone

On behalf of the Detroit Institute of Arts, I would like to thank the leaders of Milford for taking part in our Inside|Out program, which placed reproductions of some of the museum’s most popular works in communities throughout southeast Michigan.

Inside|Out provided the opportunity for people to engage with art where they live, work and play, and an element of surprise was often present as works appeared in unexpected places. Milford’s community leaders were great to work with, and we were excited to see so many Milford area residents visit Inside|Out.

We invite you to come to the DIA to see the original versions of “your” works and to enjoy the varied activities the museum offers. If you visit by Feb. 12, you will be able to see the outstanding special exhibition “Rembrandt and the Face of Jesus.”

We believe that art is for everyone, whether seen in a museum or on the street, and we were delighted to make Milford a part of the art from the DIA. Thank you for making Inside|Out such a success.
