Shop With a Hero in Waterford helps 86 needy children

The Waterford Township Police Department, along with Meijer, the Waterford Coalition for Youth and the Williams Lake Church of the Nazarene, helped 86 needy children — including the 5-year-old boy pictured above — from the Waterford School District during the fifth annual Shop With a Hero event held on Saturday, Dec. 17. White Lake time capsule will be buried in 2012

 White Lake Township is celebrating 175 years this year and, as such, the township is preparing a time capsule to commemorate the milestone. One of the items going into the time capsule will be a book filled with the names and addresses of White Lake residents. Five shot during holiday party at Rolladium rink

Man, 19, critical after being shot in the face

A Commerce Township teenager is in critical condition after he was accidentally shot in the face in the early morning hours of Tuesday, Dec. 27 at a house party on the 2000 block of Nacona.  An 80-year-old Waterford Township woman was killed in a car crash on Wednesday, Dec. 21, that also sent a 21-year-old West Bloomfield woman and two young children to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Library looks to hire a pair of new employees

Resident claims conflict of interest in work by officials

The West Bloomfield Township Board of Trustees has approved a number of recommendations from the township’s Personnel Committee, including reinstating the elections specialist/coordinator position. Snyder signs bill to rejigger county’s redistricting rules

Rick Snyder has signed a controversial redistricting bill into law that applies only to Oakland County and requires the Republican-controlled county Board of Commissioners to redraw the board’s district boundaries after a panel helmed by Democrats passed a district map in May.
