GOP acts like RINOs

From Paul Kane, White Lake Township:

Republicans in Lansing, stop! Requiring that all doctors report physical statistics for all children in the state for a centralized database in Lansing? This is another power grab that will result in more loss of freedom.

Republicans were not put into positions of power in the last election so that we could have a Republican brand of big government instead of a Democrat brand of big government. We want a smaller government.

This is the same type of RINO (Republican in Name Only) behavior that put (former Gov.) Jennifer (Granholm) in office. Freedom-loving Michiganders sat out a past election when former Gov. (John) Engler said, to paraphrase, “I’m not concerned about how big the government is, as long as it functions efficiently.” Sorry, RINOs, we want smaller government.

This is the same type of behavior that occurred with the smoking ban — more freedom-robbing behavior. I’ll never forgive those busy-bodies for sticking their noses into the private business of private business. And I’ve said it before: we don’t need government to be our mommy. We — everyone — already have a mommy, and one mommy is more than enough. We can pull up our own pants ourselves.

Big government is creating a population of wimps. The more that big government infiltrates our lives, the weaker the backbones become of the populace. America did not become great because of a bunch of spineless wimps, and Michigan will not reignite as a result of a bunch of spineless wimps.

I’ve got a list of 75 Tea Party groups across this state, and I had already planned on building cohesion between them. This type of power grab only adds “ammunition” and motivation to work ever more quickly to build our cohesion and resistance.

Republicans in Lansing, learn what it means to be a freedom-loving conservative, and stop with the busy-body, freedom-robbing, backbone-destroying RINO behavior.

And yes, my inner libertarian is clearly on display with this (letter).
