A 16-year-old female driver exiting the Walled Lake Central High School parking lot struck an Oakland County Sheriff’s Department deputy assigned to the school’s football game as he was walking across Oakley Park Road at around 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 9.
The deputy sustained minor abrasions to his hands when he fell to the pavement. The vehicle had minimum damage to its front hood.
The girl, a West Bloomfield Township resident, received a civil infraction of failing to yield, before she was released into her parents’ custody
The deputy was transported by ambulance to DMC Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital as a precaution.
He was treated and later released.
