Car trunk damaged in drive-by shooting

Oakland County Sheriff’s Department Commerce Township Substation deputies were called to the scene of a drive-by shooting in the area of Commerce and Newton roads at 6 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10.

According to the incident report, three or four shots were fired. The sound of a vehicle speeding away was also heard, according to a sheriff’s department press release.

The shooting occurred outside a home in the 3200 block of Fox, where the deputies found two spent 12-gauge shotgun rounds in a driveway and damage to the trunk of a car.

There were no injuries reported.

The resident was home at the time of the incident and claims he has no idea who is responsible for the shooting.
