A White Lake Township resident was killed during the early morning hours of Saturday, Aug. 6, in a motorcycle accident.
According to White Lake Township police, Timothy Maki, 31, was driving westbound on Elizabeth Lake Road when he failed to navigate a curve near Glandon Road. He swerved to the right side of the road, hitting mailboxes before he lost control and was thrown from the motorcycle.
Police believe the accident occurred sometime between 1 a.m. and 3:45 a.m. Emergency personnel responded to the scene around 3:50 a.m. after a passerby called 911 stating she had seen destroyed mailboxes and something lying on the ground.
It’s unknown at this time whether alcohol was a factor in the crash.
