The Milford Village Council at its Monday, June 20 meeting voted to have the village offices close at 4 p.m. on Fridays, similar to the policy of Milford Township.
In order to make up for the lost hour, the village employees will shorten two lunch hours earlier in the week.
The vote passed by a 4-1 measure, with Councilman James Kovach voting against the measure because he said he was concerned about services to residents being cut too early due to early closure of the offices.
Council President Terri Rusas-George and Councilman Jerry Aubry were absent from the meeting.
Council Members Elizabeth Heer, Michael Glagola, Kevin Ziegler and Jennifer Frankford voted in favor of the early Friday office closure.
The change became effective on Friday, July 1 as village office hours on Fridays will now be 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The office hours Monday through Thursday will remain at 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
