Huron Valley Milford High School will be welcoming a new assistant principal in the 2011-12 school year, as the Huron Valley Schools Board of Education approved the appointment of Michele Butler to the position at a June 9 board meeting.
Butler will be replacing Assistant Principal Joyce Scochin, who is retiring.
Butler comes to Huron Valley from Yuma, Ariz., where she served as an assistant principal over the past six years.
She earned a bachelor’s of science degree from Oregon State University, a master’s of arts degree in teaching from George Fox University, and received her administrative certification in 2004 from Portland State University.
Butler was highly recommended for the position, given her curriculum background, professional development initiatives and her commitment to student achievement.
“Michele brings a wealth of experience to Huron Valley and will be a valuable asset to Milford High School,” said Superintendent Jackie Johnston.
Butler and her family reside in Clarkston.
