Damage at park prompts hike in police patrols

Wixom police have increased security at Mettala and Willis parks after an unknown person(s) vandalized Mettala Park sometime between May 31 and June 4.

The park, located at 49015 Pontiac Trail, was the target of a malicious destruction of property incident where shingles were torn off the bathroom roof; a toilet paper holder was ripped from one of the restrooms and found in the driveway; the athletic field signs were torn down and discarded on the ground; both pavilion rental signs and handicap signs were stolen; and feces was found in the women’s restroom sink.

The city’s Department of Public Works and Community Services were informed there will be an increase in police patrols due to the incident.

Gee. What are the odds that the “hood rats” that live in apartment alley there on Pontiac Trail were responsible for not only this, but also the rash of similar and ever increasing property crimes in the area over the past 5 to 8 years.

I’d like these idiots to be caught, I think they vandalized my property and someone else’s.
