Warriors finish KLAA North play without a defeat

Walled Lake Western finished with an undefeated record in the Kensington Lakes Activities Association (KLAA) North Division last week.

Western began the week with a 1-1 tie against Walled Lake Central on Tuesday, May 17.

Jenny Shaba scored Western’s (11-2-2 overall, 8-0-2 in the KLAA North) only goal off an assist from Rachel Good.

“This was Senior Night for Western honoring our 11 seniors before the start of the match. Western wore pink jerseys and socks to support the fight against Breast cancer,” said Western Head Coach Mario Munoz.

The Warriors then finished off their division schedule with a convincing 5-0 victory over Huron Valley Lakeland on Thursday, May 19.

Shaba had a hat trick, as she reached the 20-goal mark for Western. Junior captain Good also scored twice in the match to reach 19 goals for the season.

Good had two assists, while Shaba, Alivia Kempster and Cate Deyonker each had one.

Western led 2-0 at halftime before putting the game away in the second half.

The Warriors then finished the week with a 3-0 loss to Livonia Churchill on Friday, May 20.
