Orchard Lake St. Mary’s went 1-2 last week in its final tune-up before the start of the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) state tournament this week.
The Eaglets (7-11) began the week with a 5-2 win at Tecumseh on Tuesday, May 17.
Sean DuPack scored 2 goals for the Eaglets, while Evan Considine scored a goal and had 2 assists while firing off 10 shots.
Nick Parr also had a goal an an assist.
Goaltender Connor Mahar made 6 saves in net for St. Mary’s.
The Eaglets then hosted Senior Night on Thursday, May 19 against Holt, but lost 7-4.
Skyler Dutkiewicz scored three goals for Holt while Mark Hildenbrand scored two.
Chris Koski scored two goals for St. Mary’s in the defeat, while Mike Koenigsknecht and Spencer McInnis each scored a goal.
St. Mary’s then finished the regular season at home with a 17-4 loss to Grand Rapids Forest Hills Central on Saturday, May 21.
The Eaglets will host an MHSAA Division 2 regional quarter-final today, Wednesday, May 25 against Farmington.
The winner will play in the regional semi-final on Wednesday, June 1 at Farmington and the regional final will be held on Friday, June 3.
Walled Lake Central was scheduled to face Grosse Pointe Woods University Liggett in a regional quarter-final game after press time on Monday, May 23, while Walled Lake Western faced Madison Heights Bishop Foley, Walled Lake Northern played Bay City Central, and Waterford Unified play against Midland.
Huron Valley Unified defeated Grand Blanc, 15-2, in a pre-regional game on Saturday, May 21 and will play at Brighton today, Wednesday, May 25 in a regional quarter-final game.
West Bloomfield fell to Saginaw Heritage, 11-10, in a pre-regional game on Saturday, May 21.
