Fire department still on the hunt for paid-on-call help

The Commerce Township Fire Department is still looking for additional paid-on-call firefighters and will be accepting applications through the end of May.

Benefits include a wage of up to $18 per hour; worker’s compensation disability benefits; and ongoing training in firefighting, extrication and medical emergencies.

Applications can be obtained from any fire station in Commerce Township or by calling 248-560-0051.

Candidates must be at least 18-years-old, have a high school diploma or GED equivalent, have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record, and be able to physically perform the activities of a firefighter.

Those applying also need to live in Commerce Township.
