Huron Valley Lakeland swept a doubleheader against Walled Lake Western on Wednesday, May 11 to keep its Kensington Lakes Activities Association (KLAA) North Division title hopes alive.
The Eagles took the first game, 6-2, as Brynn Hamilton and Jack Flynn each had a run and an RBI, while Kenny Miller threw a complete game, striking out four batters.
Lakeland then took the nightcap, 7-2, as Cole McGinn picked up the complete game victory for the Eagles.
Lakeland (10-11) also split a doubleheader against rival Huron Valley Milford on Monday, May 9, winning the first game 3-0, before falling, 9-7, in the nightcap.
The Eagles are now 5-6 in the KLAA North and will play at Waterford Kettering today, Wednesday, May 18, before hosting first-place Walled Lake Central tomorrow, Thursday, May 19.
Walled Lake Western is now 4-10 and 4-7 in the KLAA North.
