Huron Valley Unified has recovered from a 0-4 start to the season and has now won seven consecutive games.
Huron Valley began the week with a 9-6 victory over Grand Blanc to finish Kensington Lakes Activities Association (KLAA) Lakes Conference play at 5-2, second to conference champion Brighton (7-0).
Huron Valley then picked up a 12-11 victory over North Farmington and an 8-6 victory at Lansing-Waverly.
“The team is playing more cohesively and is showing increased confidence each game,” said Huron Valley Head Coach Greg Ristau. “I have been impressed with the way the defense has played as a unit and how unselfish the offense has been.”
Walled Lake Central defeated Ann Arbor Greenhills, 11-6, on Saturday, May 7 for its second win of the season.
Lucas Wilson and Matt Rosteck each had a hat trick for Central (2-8), while goalie Adam Denis made key saves and Alex Palofox and Bryan Maxwell stood out on defense.
Waterford Unified (3-5) fell to Walled Lake Central, 11-4, on Monday, May 2 before defeating Howell, 10-4, on Friday, May 6.
Walled Lake Northern defeated Grand Blanc, 8-5, on Wednesday, May 4 to move to 7-5 on the season and finish 5-2 in the KLAA Lakes Conference.
Orchard Lake St. Mary’s fell in 3 games last week, as the Eaglets lost to Warren De La Salle on May 3 (10-7), South Lyon on May 5 (9-5), and Okemos on May 7 (11-10).
The Eaglets are now 5-8 and 0-4 in the Detroit Catholic League.
Huron Valley Unified’s girls lacrosse team defeated Waterford Unified, 16-10, on Wednesday, May 4 to move to 5-5 and 3-3 in the KLAA Lakes Conference.
Waterford Unified fell to 2-8 and 0-5 in the Lakes Conference. Waterford also defeated Plymouth 12-9 on Monday, May 2.
