Eaglets topple West Bloomfield, sweep Detroit CC

Orchard Lake St. Mary’s picked up three wins last week over West Bloomfield and Novi Detroit Catholic Central.

St. Mary’s began the week on Tuesday, April 26 with a 7-4 win over West Bloomfield.

Steven Morse was the winning pitcher, going 5 innings and striking out 6 while giving up no runs. He also contributed a 2-run home run at the plate as a part of a 7-run fourth inning.

The Eaglets followed up with a doubleheader sweep of Novi Detroit Catholic Central on Saturday, April 30.

St. Mary’s won the opener, 4-3, as Brandon Willard picked up the win. Blaise Salter hit a home run and scored 2 runs.

The Eaglets then took the nightcap, 10-0, as Steven Morse picked up the win on the mound by striking out 5 batters. He also hit an RBI and scored two runs while Mike Hodgens hit 4 RBIs.

St. Mary’s is now 10-10 overall and 7-9 in the Catholic League.

The Eaglets will play at Dearborn Divine Child today, Wednesday, May 4 and will host Detroit Jesuit on Saturday, May 7.
