A woman was arrested in Commerce Township after crashing a black Ford Mustang into a mobile home in Meadows Circle around 10:15 p.m. on Saturday, April 23.
The woman allegedly took a friend’s car and proceeded to drive off with it before losing control of the vehicle and crashing into a mobile home. While the friend claimed the driver took the vehicle without his permission, he has no desire to press charges.
After the crash, the driver fled the scene, going to her own home to pick up her 19-month-old daughter.
Oakland County Sheriff’s Department Commerce Township Substation deputies arrived and asked the woman to give the child to her mother-in-law, who was at the home.
After complying, the woman allegedly resisted arrest before finally capitulating. According to the incident report, a Breathalyzer test indicated the woman’s blood-alcohol level to be 0.148 percent, almost twice the legal limit. After further blood tests at a hospital, she was taken to jail pending the test results.
