From Clark Robbins, White Lake Township:
To tax seniors for the deficit in Michigan is untenable, unthinkable and punitive. To say I am angry about this is an understatement. Especially when state employees are overpaid and over-benefitted. Especially when there are millions to be had just by cutting spending. Especially when the seniors have done nothing to deserve this and that seniors are on a fixed income.
It makes me angry when one looks at the graft, corruption, malfeasance, misfeasance, mismanagement, negligence and incompetence that caused our state to be in a deficit condition and now the seniors have to pay for all of this. Where are the budget cuts? Where are the salary cuts? Where are the benefit cuts and where are the program cuts that (Gov. Rick) Snyder promised during his election campaign?
Those who vote for this measure will regret it when the next election come around. Seniors do have a good memory and are the most prolific voters. Snyder will be a one-term governor.
