No injuries reported in drunk driving accident

A traffic accident on Wednesday, April 23 on Highland Road near Elizabeth Lake Road in Waterford Township lead to the arrest of a man who was allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol and marijuana.

The allegedly at-fault driver is a 36-year-old Waterford man who told police officers he was driving to the store to purchase beer and admitted to smoking marijuana earlier, according to police.

The man was placed under arrest when he reportedly failed sobriety testing. He was booked and transported to a local hospital for a blood draw.

Police state the man has a prior conviction out of Waterford for operating a vehicle while intoxicated in May 2008.

There were no serious injuries as a result of the accident.
