Walled Lake Western came away with two victories last week to continue its strong start to the 2011 campaign.
Western (3-1 overall, 1-0 in the Kensington Lakes Activities Association North Division) began the week with a 3-2 victory at Waterford Kettering on Thursday, April 14.
Rachel Good had a hat trick for Western in a back-and-fourth game. She scored Western’s first goal off an Alivia Kempster assist before Shelby Watts tied the game for Kettering unassisted.
Good then scored two straight goals for Western off assists from Madison Schram and Jenny Shaba.
Gabrielle Jerome scored Kettering’s second goal off an assist from Emily Loza.
Molly McMahon had 26 saves for the Captains (0-2-1, 0-1-1)
Western then followed up with a 3-1 win over North Farmington on Saturday, April 16 in a game that was played in sloppy conditions due to wet weather.
Good had a goal and an assist for Western, who was scheduled to play at Walled Lake Northern on Tuesday, April 19 after press time before hosting first-place Waterford Mott on Tuesday, April 26.
