Walled Lake Western went 1-2 last week to fall to 2-5 on the season.
Western started the week with a 10-2 victory over Belleville at home on Tuesday, April 12.
The Warriors were led by sophomore Dalton Atwater with 5 goals on 6 shots and 4 groundballs, while fellow sophomore Vlad Kovalsky had two goals and three assists and sophomore Wes Raske scored a goal.
“We had the fast start that the coaching staff had been stressing this season with 5 goals in the first quarter,” said Western Head Coach Mark White. “Our man-down defense was tremendous, allowing one goal on eleven attempts.”
Western then hosted Plymouth Salem on Friday, April 15 and fell 10-1.
Atwater scored Western’s lone goal as the Warriors were held to 9 shots on goal.
“I have to give credit to Coach Hoffman’s (Salem) defense. They have played a tough schedule to open the season and looked great tonight,” White said.
Western then fell at home to West Bloomfield, 11-3, on Saturday, April 16.
Alex Buchanan, Nick Gallmeier and Atwater each scored for the Warriors, who will host South Lyon Unified today, Wednesday, April 20.
