"Shared sacrifice"?

From Denise “Chip” Black, Milford:

I am very tired of our governor (Rick Snyder) speak of “shared sacrifice.” What sacrifices will he or his family make? They have a home, food, and health care. Millionaires will not share in any sacrifice. The middle and working class families will sacrifice and their children will pay the price.

Ummm Denise…. Are you REALLY that stupid that you were only able to write a one paragraph piss whine and moan article to the SCN ? Reality of the matter at hand is that this country is BROKE…. Legally, fiscally and really BROKE. Add to that Aunt Jenny and her group of chronies with 8 years of running record budget deficits and record spending in what has been the worst economy since the great depression, and what do you expect?
How many homes in your neighborhood are VACANT? How many of your neighbors have been and are still out of work? What make of car do YOU drive? (I’d bet it’s not a domestic model, and more likely a Kia or Honda. THANKS for selling your neighbors out!)

And while I do agree that the politicians and the rich have raped this country blind, they’ve done so to the point that all the pampered, overpaid and underworked public sector employees have no choice but to feel the same pain that the rest of us “common joe blow citizens” have not for the past 10 years.
Your letter proves loud and clear that you are CLUELESS to what has and is going on around you and sorry to tell ya there babe…. If ya don’t like it, next time ya better get out and vote !!

While I don’t agree with Denise and her class envy rhetoric, I do believe the rats in Lansing should start thinking about a pay freeze, or better yet reduction and for them to start paying for a portion of their insurance and pension. Michigan is one of the few states that has a full time legislature and we just don’t need it nor can we afford it.

There is no reason why this state cannot operate a part time legislature. Heck, these clowns are working part time anyway but getting paid for full time.

That said, I would be hard pressed to support anything the governor proposes until Lansing leads by example.

Volunteer…… You speak the same words as the rest of us “common tax paying citizens” have been now for just over a decade. My bets are though that you’ll see hell freeze over before you see “kool aide” people like Thaddeus (milking the political cow) well as so many others EVER put forth any sort of legislation that would make their full time, over-paid and over-compensated jobs become a part time gig………………… Are they also part of the same union as the school teachers who work 6 months of the year (with every holiday on the calendar off work) and get paid a full time wage with un-gawdly benefits ?????
