Corsairs, Eagles, Lakers all notch wins to start year

Waterford Mott began its 2011 season with two wins this past week.

The Corsairs began the year with a dominating 8-1 victory over Ferndale on Tuesday, March 29.

Hannah Rhoades finished with a hat trick for Mott, scoring its first three goals, while Meggy McConkey also had a hat trick and Corey Klein and Hannah Messer each scored a goal.

Katie Ging had five saves in net for Mott.

Mott then followed up with a 3-0 victory over Westland John Glenn on Thursday, March 31.

Amanda Schoonover, Alyssa Bolling and Klein each scored a goal for Mott while Katie Ging picked up the shutout in net.

Mott is off until Tuesday, April 12 when it travels to Huron Valley Lakeland.

Huron Valley Lakeland picked up its second victory of the season with a 1-0 win over South Lyon on Monday, March 28.
