Parents of West Bloomfield School District elementary and middle school students have a chance to enter their child in a drawing for a chance to be a “ball kid” at an upcoming Detroit Pistons game.
As a ball kid, the child will be on the floor for a Pistons game and will be responsible for numerous duties, including helping straighten out the locker room and gathering player uniforms and warm-ups.
In addition, two tickets to the game will be awarded to the winning child’s family.
Parents are asked to donate $10 to the Greater West Bloomfield Community Coalition (GWBCC) and send the money in a sealed envelope labeled “Pistons Ball Kid,” along with a parent’s address and phone number, to the child’s elementary or middle school by Friday, March 11.
Checks should be made out to the GWBCC.
The drawing will be held at the GWBCC Fundraising Dinner on Tuesday, March 15. Parents don’t need to be present to win.
This is not the first time the Pistons have been involved in a West Bloomfield Schools fund-raiser.
The team held “West Bloomfield Schools Night” on Feb. 21, 2010, in which discounted tickets were sold to benefit the West Bloomfield Educational Foundation.
