Annual Highland event will be held at green house

The Highland Township Beautification Committee will be hosting its annual Night at the Greenhouse event on Tuesday, March 22 starting at 6:30 p.m.

Unlike previous years when the event was held at the Adult Activity Center, this year’s event will be held at the Bogie Lake Greenhouse, located at 1525 Bogie Lake Road in White Lake Township.

“This is the first time we’ve held this event at a greenhouse. It’s something new and exciting,” said Highland Township Treasurer Judy Kiley, who serves on the beautification committee.

According to Kiley, one of the members on the committee that plans the event came up with the idea of holding this year’s gathering in a greenhouse. The committee member then talked with Patty Watkins, the owner of Bogie Lake Greenhouse, about holding the event there.

Watkins will be providing a presentation introducing the latest annuals, perennials, and flowering shrubs at Night at the Greenhouse.

“She will be showing us some newer plants and the more popular plants for this year,” Kiley said.

Other aspects of the evening include a raffle, refreshments, and possible discounts on plants at the greenhouse.
