Statue valued at $9,000 stolen in Commerce

A hockey statue was stolen from the 100 block of Cherry Grove Lane in Commerce Township sometime before noon on Friday, Feb. 18.

The bronze statue depicted a hockey player on skates holding a stick, and was situated on a slab of marble. The statue weighs approximately 150 pounds and used to be sitting about 40 feet from the adjacent roadway.

Its value is estimated to be about $9,000.

There are no suspects in the theft at this time.
