Fashion show to raise money for historical society

Township volunteers will stroll down the runway modeling what’s chic and in-style at the 12th Annual Waterford Township Historical Society Fashion Show on Saturday, March 5.

The event, held this year at Bartelli’s Banquet Hall, located at 100 S. Cass Lake Road in Waterford Township, benefits the Historical Society in its efforts to build up the village and manage general operations.

“We’re constantly trying to add new amenities to the historical village and preserve the history for the future by recapturing what life was like 100 years ago,” said Coordinator Betty Seymour.

The Clothing Cove in Milford is providing the clothing line and accessories for the fashion show.

“They bring in neat costume jewelry, purses, and scarves,” Seymour said. “Clothing not purchased by the models can be bought on site.”

The fashion show begins at 11 a.m. Lunch is included in the $20-per-person ticket price.

Ticket and raffle proceeds benefit the Waterford Historical Society.

There will be two raffles at the fashion show: a 50/50 drawing and one for a Clothing Cove gift certificate.

Only 132 tickets will be sold, and they’re selling fast.

“We’re close to capacity and there are only a handful left, but that could change if people back out because we resell those,” Seymour said.
