West Bloomfield had only one game last week, but the Lakers made it count, as they defeated Farmington Hills Harrison, 49-23, on the road on Thursday, Feb. 17.
The Lakers (14-4 overall, 9-3 in the Oakland Activities Association White Division) led 9-8 at the end of the first quarter before outscoring Harrison, 40-15, the rest of the game.
Sydni Davis led West Bloomfield with 12 points. Ashley Zeigler had 9 points.
“We spoke at half time of letting the offense take care of itself but eliminating the highest percentage shots for Harrison, and it showed in the second half as we forced them to be a jump shot team and it worked in our favor,” said Lakers Head Coach Steve Larkin.
West Bloomfield hosted Oak Park on Tuesday, Feb. 22 after press time and will play at Oxford on Friday, Feb. 25 to close out the regular season.
The Lakers will then take on North Farmington in a district playoff game at Farmington on Monday, Feb. 28, with the winner facing Farmington Hills Mercy in the district semi-finals on Wednesday, March 2.
In the other semi-final, Walled Lake Western will play either Farmington or Farmington Hills Harrison on Wednesday, March 2.
