A 2002 Ford Escape valued at about $8,000 was stolen from the Shuman Motors parking lot in Walled Lake sometime during the overnight hours between Feb. 10 and 11.
Walled Lake police were dispatched to the dealership located at the corner of Pontiac Trail and Maple, and spoke with the general manager, who stated the last time the car was shown to a customer was around 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 10. A salesman informed police that he showed the car to three men. One of the men said he wanted to purchase a car for his daughter. He and one of his companions asked to see the specifications on the vehicle before they looked under the hood and at the interior. They also asked to take a look at a Jeep Grand Cherokee.
The driver wouldn’t provide any information except a business card. He told the salesman he would return in a few days.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
