Man claiming to be God possessed drugs

Walled Lake police recently arrested a resident who claimed he was God after they found narcotics on his person.

Police were dispatched on Sunday, Feb. 13 to the 1600 block of Bolton Avenue at the man’s insistence that police give him a ride to the Holy City.

The officers identified the man, but he claimed it was merely an earthly name that changed once the Holy Father came upon him a few weeks ago. He stated that as the new Lord and “second coming,” he needed to get to the Vatican because the world will be ending on Dec. 21, 2012, and he had a lot of work to do before then.

While patting him down, police found eight grams of marijuana, rolling papers and a suspicious substance inside foil that the subject said was hashish. The subject admitted to smoking the narcotics earlier.

He was transported to Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital for a psychological evaluation.

The subject is currently on probation, according to police.
