Schools of choice applications to be taken next month

The Walled Lake Consolidated School District will once again be offering schools of choice opportunities for Oakland County residents during the upcoming 2011-12 academic year.

There are limited seats available in all schools for kindergarten through 10th-grade students, with the exception of Clifford Smart Middle School, Walnut Creek Middle School, and Walled Lake Central High School. There are currently no seats available in those schools.

Applications for schools of choice openings are available on the school district’s website at www.wlcsd.org. All applications must be submitted between March 1 and March 30. No applications will be accepted before or after those dates.

If the number of qualified non-resident applications exceeds positions available, the district will use a random draw system to develop and maintain a waiting list based on the order in which the non-resident applicants were drawn.
