The Kensington Lakes Activities Association (KLAA) Lakes Conference tournament begins this week, with four lakes area teams in contention for the title.
Tournament play opened yesterday, Tuesday, Feb. 15 after press time with undefeated KLAA North Division champion Waterford Kettering (16-0) traveling to Howell (5-11), while Waterford Mott (4-12) played at KLAA West co-champion Grand Blanc (14-2).
The winners from those games will face off in the semi-finals on Friday, Feb. 18, with the North Division team hosting the game. However, if two teams from the same division were matched up, the highest-seeded team would host the game.
In the bottom half of the bracket, the North’s No. 2 seed, Huron Valley Lakeland (13-3), traveled to Pinckney (10-6), the No. 3 seed in the West; while the North’s No. 4 seed, Walled Lake Central (6-10), faced the West’s No. 1 seed, the Hartland Eagles (15-1).
The winners will meet in the semi-finals on Friday, Feb. 18, with a North Division team scheduled to host pending the outcome of Tuesday’s games.
The conference title game will then be played on Tuesday, Feb. 22, with a West Division team scheduled to host pending the outcome of Friday’s semi-finals.
The Lakes Conference champion will travel to the Kensington Conference champion to play in the KLAA title game on Friday, Feb. 25.
