Waterford firefighters rescued two men from separate vehicle accidents late last month.
On Friday, Jan. 28, around 7:30 p.m., firefighters rescued a man pinned underneath a car on Kessler, located in Waterford’s south end.
Firefighters found a car lying on its passenger side with the man trapped underneath. Firefighters used extrication airbags and wood blocks to lift the car off of the man, who was transported to a local hospital.
Then on Saturday, Jan. 29, Waterford firefighters responded to an injured man on the ice as a result of a snowmobile accident on Cass Lake at around 2:30 a.m.
Firefighters had to battle bitter winds and snow-covered ice to treat the man, who was 100 yards off shore.
The man was transported to a local hospital.
